Core scripture: “For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:19)
Message: God moves in mysterious ways. Do you ever sit back and marvel at it? Do you ever think to yourself How? How do You do it? I could share story after story of how He has moved in my life. Today was one of those days.
I thought I was going to write this morning about a thought-provoking sermon I heard a few days ago, but then … what can I say … God began to move. I clicked open my FCA Daily Impact Play devotional and was inspired by fellow Christian brother Jimmy Page’s message, but it wasn’t until I read his bio at the bottom of the page that I found my topic for today.
You see, Jimmy’s wife battled colon cancer back in 2011, inspiring them to begin a cancer foundation at https://believebig.org/home/. I clicked on the website and discovered they had a prayer page … the exact same day that my good friend and colleague Erica was undergoing a double mastectomy for her breast cancer.
Are you kidding me?
Coincidence? I think not! I typed in a quick prayer for Erica, sent it through, and e-mailed Erica the website, full of inspirational scripture that is sure to provide her with encouragement and hope. As I sit here typing this blog, I cannot help but smile at God’s timing.
Like my friend Jeremi calls it, this is a God story! A story that shows how our amazing, omnipotent God works his magic. It is indeed a story worth sharing. Will you do me a favor? Share this story with someone today. Share YOUR story with someone.
You never know who God will chose to impact.
Challenge: How has God moved in your life recently? I would love to hear from you! Reply back to this blog so I can approve your comment and share hope with the many Christian teachers that read this.
Prayer points: Lift up the following areas to our Lord …
- Pray for my friend Erica that God would heal her of the cancer in her body and that her surgery would be successful.
- Praise God that my students successfully completed their State Reading Assessments last week with very few glitches.
- Pray that God would continue to move mountains for us as we embark on the final six weeks of teaching.
Song application: “God Is On the Move” by 7eventh Time Down
Anytime in weakness someone falls upon their knees
Or dares to speak the truth that sets men free
Anytime the choice is made to stand upon the Word
I know, I know, I know, I know
God is on the move, on the move
Hallelujah
God is on the move
In many mighty ways
God is on the move, on the move
Hallelujah
God is on the move
On the move today
Just for fun: Okay, so I have a new one from my son’s soccer team. After embracing the sheer awesomeness of our team name, the Pickle Potatoes, AND seeing it changed on the public website (you know the other teams will be intimidated when they see Pickle Potatoes as their adversary), one of my son’s teammates proudly declared in a practice scrimmage last night that his team was the Pamper Astronauts.
Wow.
Prayer: Lord, you are such an amazing God! Thank you for moving in our lives with purpose. Help us see those moments in our lives when You work Your magic so we can share them with others. Amen.
I have been reading your blog for years now. I am the director of an early education program and will often read your devotional to my staff in our morning meetings. It has been such a blessing to me and them. This month’s devotional really hit me hard especially the statement, “Share your story with someone”. My husband and I have been struggling in the wilderness and dry wasteland in our marriage for years. Struggles in marriage is not something that many talk about openly, even in the church. I have been suffering in silence for so long. We just attended a 4 day marriage intensive through Focus on the Family. I can truly say that God is on the move, doing something new, making a pathway through the wilderness, and creating rivers in our wasteland of a marriage. I have seen Him move in both of our hearts in a mighty and miraculous way. God is on the move!! He is trustworthy and so loving and His timing is always perfect. We serve a God who holds all of the details of our lives in perfect balance and meets our needs at just the right time. Praise God!

Hello, Christine! I look back at this comment and want to check in with you. How are you doing? How is your marriage? I am lifting you up in prayer, sister. I am lifting you up in prayer right now. Speak your husband’s love language today. Do something special for him. I was encouraged to send a text to fill someone’s bucket this morning, and I texted my wife. It could be a text. It could be a hug. It could be taking the kids and giving him time to himself. Maybe it is just telling him I love you. I can guarantee it will pay off for you and be returned in full. God bless you!
